To give the dreams of these
young girls back to them

After months spent listening to the stories of child mothers we discovered that the cry of their hearts was to be in a safe place together where they could be accepted and heal from their experiences. These young girls had their dreams stolen from them when they were kidnapped, raped, and forced to kill. Many of them have not dared to dream because of the limitations placed upon them by their society and their situation. They long for hope and a chance to be the women they were created to be. In order to change their lives, they need their hearts to heal first.

Zion Project was born.

The future for us is one where girls become spiritually, emotionally, and physically whole.
With new purpose, they can then move towards their dreams, fulfill their destinies,
and empower their children and communities. We believe they can learn new technology, and go onto higher education. We believe in their potential to change their communities and bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth.

We do this through a 4-fold holistic solution:

RESCUE, liberating girls from the destructive environments of the IDP camps they are returned to and bringing them into a home that sets these lonely girls into a family;

REHABILITATION, offering love and programs that provide treatment and healing for physical, spiritual, and emotional needs;

RESTORATION, a period of respite and renewal, that they may embrace a new hope and freedom in God, claiming confidence, identity, and independence;

RE-ENTRY, providing education, vocational training, and job opportunities, as well as help in the reconciliation process with their community.

Zion Project House

Offering Love and Family

Opened October 2008, the colorful house in Gulu, Uganda is now home to
10 girls and their 13 children along with our Founder/ Executive Director, Sarita.
The vision for the home was a place of safety, where girls who have been abandoned or have lost their families can bond and form a family together, loving one another, learning together and encouraging each other as they grow into their purposes as women and daughters of God. This is exactly what the Zion Project House has become.

Girl's Testimonies

“I didn’t know there was forgiveness in the world but when I reached the Zion House and started receiving counseling I learned and now my heart is so free. I can stand in front of many people and speak before them now because I have been released from fear.” –Stella

“When I first came, I was heartbroken. But the teachings of God and the counseling has healed my heart. The forgiveness part touched me so much. I forgave all those who hurt me.” –Linda-

“My heart would pain me like an old person’s heart. I had many worries. When I first came to the Zion House, I prayed “God please save me,” because I knew my life needed to change. The following day I said that I wanted to surrender my life to Jesus and I became born again. I used to look at myself like a useless person, like a piece of luggage. These teachings touched my life so much. I found out I was destroying myself. I don’t even fear now. I am set free. I can stand in front of you and speak. I even want to become a preacher now.”  -Janet-
